Arkitekturfilm Oslo har siden oppstarten i 2016 vært en arena for å diskutere arkitektur både som byutvikling og kunst, og en døråpner til samtalen for de som liker å se film på kino. Arkitekturfilm Oslo eies og drives av ROM for kunst og arkitektur.

Arkitektur er ikke bare et verktøy for byutvikling - for endring, fornyelse og eventuell forbedring av byen og samfunnet. På lik linje med film, musikk, billedkunst, litteratur og scenekunst er arkitektur en forståelsesramme. Den gir innsikt i tiden og den kulturelle, sosiale og politiske konteksten som formet den. ROM lager Arkitekturfilm Oslo fordi filmmediet er et effektivt og perspektivrikt verktøy for analyse og fremstilling av arkitektur.
